Chase The Bear is a Canadian rock band that’s all about the hooks. We add a dynamic blend of soul, pop, and hip-hop influences to our music. We’ve performed over 150 shows, including a sold-out opening slot for The Trews at Vancouver’s iconic Commodore Ballroom that will stick with us forever.

What sets us apart? We started as a busking duo and quickly evolved into a 6-piece band of likeminded people who have bonded as brothers and brought our musical chemistry and infectious energy to crowds all over Canada.

We signed with Vancouver-based record label Rock Is Dead Records (distributed by 604 Records) and released our debut album “Honey” in 2023. Our single “Underwater” was a contender for the Vancouver Canucks goal song. With five shiny new tracks nearly ready for release and a US tour scheduled for the fall, 2024 promises to be Chase the Bear’s biggest year yet.

Brett Cassidy is a Calgary, AB-based multi-instrumentalist that has spent the past decade honing his songcraft as part of a bevy of bands, playing folk, country, indie, and rock music across Canada. Now, for the first time, he has stepped out from the comfort of the background with guitar, and sometimes banjo in tow, to play solo songs that combine his favourite bits of all those genres. Drawing as much inspiration from traditional American folk and country music as he does from psychedelic drones, Cassidy’s songs create a space for those forgotten in time to stomp their feet alongside a suitcase kick drum. You can often catch him weaving heartbroken cowboy songs of yesteryear from the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Marty Robbins, and Hank Williams into his set.
